TKAM #922 It's A Family Affair #AirOutWednesday

TK in the AM: show

Summary: 11.28.18 Today we are joined by two friends we vibed with during Giant Steps in Minnesota: Gilbert Bwette and Jay Smooth, two talented artists set to also contribute to bettering the world. #AirOutWednesday TK starts out the show with an air out, going after those people on Facebook who bait us to start arguing. Maybe curating your feed isn’t that bad. Conscious talks about the art world with the Andy Warhol exhibit. In #NewsYouCanUse: Young Busco, creator of the “What are those?!” meme has passed away at age 31. Stephen Hillenburg, creator of Spongebob Squarepants passed away at age 57. Danye Jones, Ferguson activist, is dead at the age of 24. Gilbert takes the show on a tour of Uganda with all the projects he’s doing with the youth of the country, from art to agriculture and hip hop. We also learn that if you’re a tourist there, you may get charged Mezungo price, but it’ll be worth it. Jay Smooth the media phenom, joins us as well, getting immediately into the spirit of #AirOutWednesday by airing out WBAI. Following #ChatroomCheckIn, we take the show into discussion on the pressures that the world has on POC, and the self-care movement. We end the show with some air outs, because it wouldn’t be Wednesday if we didn’t have grievances. #AirOutWednesday @TKinTheAM is live every M-W-F 10-1130am EST on bondfireradio.com and tunein app. Same day replays 7pm EST also available on Apple Podcasts, GooglePodcasts, Spreaker, and Spotify! If you really like us, leave a review on Apple Podcast that’d be really cool. http://geturshirt.com
