Summary: We sat down with Veronica Miller Jamison and got to talking about her art and how she found her way into her career as an illustrator. As a kid, Veronica was always drawing but just saw this as a hobby. She pursued a degree in journalism and ended up landed her first job at NPR. While working, Veronica realized she wanted to pursue fashion. She decided to pivot and went back to school for fashion design. It was during her graduate program, Veronica realized she actually just wanted to draw. She landed her first big client while still in her fashion grad program. After that Veronica really started to grow her business as an illustrator and has worked with some big clients: Hallmark, Marie Claire, and Bloomingdales. In 2019 she will have her first illustrated children's book out. Veronica also teaches at Drexel University and Made Institute. We got to chatting about creativity and how to grow your brand as an artist.
