He is also the principal architect of the NIST Risk Management Framework, and leads the joint taskforce between the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, and the Committee on National Security Systems that developed the Unified Information Security Framework for the federal government.<br> Ron held previous roles at the Institute for Defense Analysis and as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army.<br> Ron received his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from West Point, his Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School, and his PhD in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School.<br>
