Summary: Among other topics, Neil discusses the following issues with Metis Strategy:<br> <br> * Singularity University and his role as co-chair of the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics track<br> * The ways in which AI can mitigate the heuristics inherent in human cognition<br> * How AI can be used to augment current human capability<br> * Strategies technology executives should use to think about AI<br> * The role the government should play in helping mitigate the potential job losses from AI<br> * His perspectives on the dangers of artificial intelligence that have been expressed by major thought leaders<br> * Advice on how to train workers to be prepared for the coming wave of AI<br> * How individuals can prepare themselves for the opportunity of AI<br> <br> Neil Jacobstein’s Biography<br> Neil Jacobstein is the co-chair of the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics track within Singularity University, a Silicon Valley think tank founded in 2008 at NASA’s research park in California that focuses on educational programs and “exponential technologies.”<br> Prior to becoming co-chair of the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics track, Neil served as President of the University from October 2010 to October 2011.  He has also served as a technical consultant on AI research and development projects for DARPA, Boeing, NIST, among other organizations.  He was also CEO of Teknowledge Corporation, a pioneering AI company that worked on AI applications systems for industry and government.<br> Neil earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Wisconsin, and his Master of Science degree in Human Ecology from the University of Texas.<br>
