Summary: The Tibetan technique called 'Tonglen' was honed over hundreds and possibly thousands of years to heal the most painful and disturbing parts of our selves and our past. It continues to be widely practiced today across the world for the simple reason that it works. The methodology has stood the test of time for this reason. Each of us has a history of injury or anguish or suffering and there are practices that can heal that pain. Your suffering may be more or less fresh, more or less chronic, but everyone wages an ongoing battle with dissatisfaction or pain of some kind or another. This Buddhist practice can heal these old wounds and help you release the pain you endure.
