Summary: Episode #003 – Protecting the Nation’s Children w/ SA Joan Hoback - Welcome Special Agent Joan Hoback, Assistant to the Special Agent in Charge (ASAIC) of the Forensic Services Division (FSD) for the U.S. Secret Service. On this episode, we discuss our partnership with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). This initiative is the Childhood Smart Program, which heightens awareness regarding child safety issues. It focuses on delivering age-appropriate real world and Internet safety presentations to children in classrooms, camps, community events, and more. SA Joan Hoback talks with us about the partnership, educational resources, and the importance of outreach to schools and communities regarding the dangers children face online. In 1984, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which established in 1984, is a non-profit organization working with law enforcement, families, and the professionals who serve them on issues related to missing and exploited children. The U.S. Secret Service is authorized, at the request of any state or local law enforcement agency, or at the request of NCMEC to provide forensic and investigative assistance in support of any investigation involving missing or exploited children.
