As far as we can tell, Niantic never officially announced the details of the Johto Festival. There are brand new research tasks and it seems like evolved generation 2 Pokémon are spawning much more frequently. Niantic also release some new shiny Pokémon: Natu, Pineco, and Sunkern. Looking toward the future we can see that September is going to be a busy month for Pokémon GO.
