Summary: Sometimes those kills shots don't go as planned or sometimes, despite a double lung shot, the deer finds it's way into terrain or structure that make the wounded deer track undetectable to the hunter. A trained deer tracking dog can be an immeasurable asset to a hunter in these situations. But how does it work? What should we expect when we call in the dogs? We invited a panel of volunteer leashed dog deer trackers to discuss many of the issues surrounding tracking a wounded deer with a trained dog.
