Plimpton report’s the Mets have found the future: Sidd Finch’s fastball been clocked at 168 mph. O’shit, can he control it? Who is he? Mr. Sidd Finch, 23 years old: background unknown, possible a graduate of Yale University. Speculation: working on a government, project that recently ended. Given clearance to play baseball. Plimpton’s well written, 13 -page story revealed everything about Sidd Finch: good; bad; ugly; - and a deep sadness inside the young man that would change the course of his life and baseballs forever.
