Summary: The first in an occasional series where I play some of my favourite mid tempo and ballad soul tunes. These types of tunes have spawned a whole scene amongst Latino listeners and collectors in East Los Angeles in particular that is dubbed the "Low Rider" or "Gangster" soul scene. They also feature at some of the more discerning soul music nights in the UK especially in London and the South East.
