Before beginning Systema, Edgars had an extended martial background in sambo, karate, kungfu, and other arts. But in Systema, he found something entirely different. Through regular pilgrimages to Russia and Japan, anddedicated training under Mikhail Ryabko and Vladimir Vasiliev, Edgars has acquired an uncommon depth of knowledge and understanding.
