Summary: In Episode #041 I am joined once again by Peach Lee Ray and Toni Mansell to discuss Cultural Appropriation and Diversity in the Pole Industry after the recent black face incident Recently in the Pole Community there was an incident of a competitor at a big international competiton that performed on stage wearing blackface in an attempt to do a tribute performance to Whoopi Goldberg in Sister Act. After pictures and videos were published on Facebook and Instagram there was a large backlash against the competiton and the competitors which has sparked big debate within the community In this episode I talk with Peach and Toni about the divide of opinions within the Pole community and society as a whole on the issues of race and racial oppression, why blackface is seen by most as totally unncceptable in any situation, whether an individuals intention is more important than how their actions are percieved by others and many more subjects Toni's original Blog - https://www.thepoliticalpoledancer.com/2018/03/19/the-pole-industry-blackface-shame/ Follow Toni - @mistypoledancer Peach's Blog - www.polewithpeach.com Follow Peach - @peachleeray Find Shane on Facebook - www.facebook.com/shanegodliman Follow Shane on Instagram - @shanegodliman Email Shane - shanegodlimanpole@gmail.com Make sure you don't forget to subscribe to the podcast on iTunes and leave a review! https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-shane-godliman-show-podcast/id1260365217?mt=2
