#TIMESUP (Minicast)

Tamarindo Podcast show

Summary: Welcome back for the first Tamarindo mini cast episode of 2018!  We join in on the ongoing dialogue about #TIMESUP: "the unified call for change from women in entertainment for women everywhere, From movie sets to farm fields to boardrooms alike…” -(TimesUpNow.com). This initiative, which dropped like fire on New Years Day, is an organized and resounding response to the growing cultural shift demanding an end to sexual assault and inequality in the workplace.  Join the ladies of Tamarindo as they delve into the discourse about  Times UP and its links to  #IntersectionalFeminism. We also discuss how the #goldenglobes show was leveraged as a platform to highlight the movement and leaders both within and outside entertainment. Finally, enter #Oprah…. and her monumental speech at the Golden Globes that led to instant rumors about a presidential run. We are joined by special guest/friend of the show Jay Conner from the popular podcast “[The Extraordinary Negroes](http://www.theextraordinarynegroes.com/)” to sort through the hype. Jay is a writer & cultural commentator writer (New York Times, The Root, SXSW, Very Smart Brothas, Bitch Media, AFROPUNK, Creators of Color, The AMC Network, CBS All-Access, etc) who widened the mini cast convo around building bridges, the urgency of men can stepping  up, and the term "allies.”  Time has been up, and the is just the beginning of the conversation.
