Summary: <br> Altovise Pelzer was born and raised in Philadelphia. Her grandmother encouraged her to write at the age of eight and later realized that developing a love of writing would get her through many difficult situations in life. She never dreamed writing would ultimately be the catalyst for her business as an adult.<br> In 2015, Altovise decided that she was going to move forward with writing her first book – that she had been working on for seven years. She finds inspiration for her book series and conference topics from life experiences surrounding the molestation of her two daughters, fighting homelessness, the loss of her mother, learning to trust again and love. Her confidence to finish that first book came from a conversation with her eldest daughter during which she revealed that she had been molested as well. She finally was on the right track, then became homeless on December 31st of 2015 and on January 1st of 2016 she had a decision to make. Take the trip she’d already had planned or retreat back into feeling sorry for herself. She chose to take that trip and was upgraded to first class for one of her flights. And, what happened when someone gave her a first class ticket for a flight that changed her world.<br>  <br>  <br> In This Episode<br> <br> <br> 1 – She’s had so much to endure yet her smile is a staple for her.<br> 2 – Altovise Pelzer shares her story of discovering, in 2009, that her two young daughters had been molested. The girls were 3 and 5 years old, at the time, visiting their father (ex husband) and he walked in on his 13 year old stepson holding one of the girls inappropriately on his lap. Her ex knew and never even told her.<br> 3 – It was later discovered this was not the only time it happened, and it was happening to both girls. Once that was revealed, police were brought in and both girls were taken to the hospital for examination.<br> 4 – In 2015, Altovise found herself homeless with three young kids and at a fork in the road. She had blamed herself for years for what happened to her girls. You see, she had been molested herself when she was seven years old and never told anyone, until this time when she inadvertently revealed it to her girls. For so long she had been using their stories as a crutch to become complacent and didn’t want to get out of her situation.<br> 5 – Fast forward to today, and Altovise is now helping other women get through similar circumstances.
