Prep a Convention Game: Wargaming Recon #185

Podcasts – Wargaming Recon show

Summary: Today the lads talk about how the average joe can go about organising a convention game, what they do, how they do it and who gets the credit for it. Where to Start Like most things, the idea is paramount. How to choose it and why it chosen is what is going to make or break the game. Whats Next? You have an idea now, a plan so to speak. Do you really have a plan? Who is doing what and when? Final Act What happens in the days, hours, and minutes leading to game time? Hustle happens. Division of Labor Who does what? This is very important. Especially if you are working in a team or representing a club. Who is accountable for what? What are the contingency plans? Cost Now the bread and butter, the financial, time, and other costs necessary to put on the event are the adult part of this. How much you put in is how much you’ll get out of it. But this year the gaming groups seem to have all but evaporated.  I only saw one person wearing a Northern Conspiracy shirt and not a single shirt from a Boston area gaming group.  When the gaming groups had a much greater presence, the level of camaraderie was much higher – both within groups and between groups.  The energy definitely much more heightened in those years.” Do You Like Wargaming Recon, then Review the show If you like what you hear please consider reviewing us on iTunes & Stitcher Radio. iTunes and Stitcher Radio are some of the most popular ways for listeners to find podcasts.
