Steelers Podcast - The Terrible Podcast show

Summary: Season 7, Episode 32 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Monday show, David Todd and I start things off by discussing the health of the Pittsburgh Steelers as the enter their bye week following Sunday’s loss to the New England Patriots. We move on to thoroughly break down Sunday’s loss to the Patriots and begin by talking about the play of quarterback Landry Jones, who made his third career start in place if the injured Ben Roethlisberger. The Steelers were short several wide receivers on Sunday so we talk about how that affected the offense some on Sunday. We also talk about the blown red zone opportunities the offense had against the Patriots. A few questionable penalties are also discussed as well. We move on to discuss the play of the Steelers defense on Sunday and highlight the few players who we thought played well. We discuss the failure to stop the Patriots running game and most notably in the second half. We also dissect the big touchdown pass that tight end Rob Gronkowski caught and how quarterback Tom Brady moved the chains with his legs a few times during the game. The Steelers defensive scheme and personnel is discussed late in this show in addition to the lack of sacks the defense has. We wrap things up by talking about some poor clock management that took place on Sunday in addition to discussing the decision head coach Mike Tomlin made to let kicker Chris Boswell attempt a 54-yard field goal on a 4th and 3 in the fourth quarter. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post.
