Steelers Podcast - The Terrible Podcast show

Summary: Season 7, Episode 66 of The Terrible Podcast is now up and in this Wednesday show, David Todd and I get right to discussing the current statuses of Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and linebackers coach Joey Porter. We update the health of Roethlisberger, who injured his right foot late in the win over the Miami Dolphins, and then talk about the Steelers decision to place Porter on a leave of absence following his Sunday night incident on the South Side. We talk about whether or not the Porter is incident will be viewed as a distraction should the Steelers wind up being eliminated from the playoffs by the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. Will Porter be back this season? What about next season? We discuss those two items in addition to talking about former Steelers linebacker Kevin Greene apparently being open to coaching in Pittsburgh should Porter ultimately be let go. We talk a little about the production the Steelers got out of their outside linebackers the last two seasons and that turns into us discussing a few players who will be restricted and exclusive rights free agents after the season is over. The Steelers injury report ahead of Sunday’s game against the Chiefs is next up for us to discuss and we focus in on tight end Ladarius Green and whether or not he’ll be able to play against the Chiefs. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin gave us quite a few talking points to discuss during his weekly Tuesday press conference so we hit those one by one. We talk about why he said he left Roethlisberger in the game this past Sunday in addition to going over what he said about cornerback Justin Gilbert as well as special teams. In the second half of the show we are joined by Adam Teicher, who covers the Chiefs for ESPN.com. Together we preview the upcoming Divisional Round playoff game. You can follow Adam on Twitter at @adamteicher and read his work online ahead of Sundays game. As always, several other smaller talking points are mixed in throughout the show that are not highlighted here in this post.
