Summary:
Hello and welcome back to The Comedy Cast; today you’ll be hearing from Scottish stand-up comedian Ross Leslie.

We kick off the interview talking about our shared love for watching sky sports news alone and in our shorts before getting onto Ross’ upcoming Glasgow Comedy Festival show and some of the new material he’s written for it.

We chat then about politics making its way into Ross’ sets and why at the beginning of his comedy career he stayed away from it before moving onto talking a little then about football and the hours of life that we’ve both wasted playing Football Manager; a game that is more addictive than heroin.

We speak then about how and why Ross got into comedy, I’ll give you a clue, he had something to do with spite.

Ross speaks then about Asperger’s Syndrome and how he was diagnosed with the condition following autism being diagnosed in two of his sons in his mid-thirties and how when it happened he felt like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders. We speak about the characteristics of the conditions as well and how people deal with it.

We get back to comedy then and Ross tells me about his first ever gig and one of the jokes from that faithful night. We speak about parenthood then for a bit, it’s joys, it’s disappointments (being hit in the cock) and how even though it’s a great source of material Ross wants to use it less in his sets.

Finally then we speak about Ross’ comedic influences, curating Scotland’s Pick of the Fringe at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe and becoming a regular contributor on BBC Scotland’s award winning satire show Breaking the News.

Ross Leslie’s Website: here

Ross’ Twitter: here

Get in Touch

Don’t be shy, get in touch with The Comedy Cast or follow us on social media

If you’d like to get in touch, email me here: spud(at)thecomedycast.com

The Comedy Cast on Facebook: here

The Comedy Cast on Twitter: here

The Comedy Cast on YouTube: here

The Comedy Cast on Instagram: here

The Comedy Cast on Google+: here
