For me, I just get quiet and just live in the now. Most of us live our lives in the light of the past or the future. We live in the past in either shame or victim mentality, or something devastating happened and that holds us back. We become victim to that in our own mindset, that becomes one prison. Or the 'good old days', we wish we could go back to the good times.  That holds us back from what's in front of us. In front of us we often look at certain goals or what we want to accomplish and we say, 'I'll be happy when ...'. It could be a home, a job, an income. Anytime you have these goals, they can just become a bottomless well. Instead of looking at the past or the future for happiness, happiness is actually in the present. In the present you can find yourself going to a place of being grateful for the people in your life.
