Woodworkers often have trouble visualizing how and why they should join pieces of wood. Dovetails are probably the most difficult joint for woodworkers to comprehend why the grain direction has to run a specific way. The joint itself has some mechanical hold, which is why we see woodworkers incorrectly joining the end of a board to the side. It’s an easy mistake to make, but one that could cost you the entire project when the joint fails.
If you haven’t joined already, click here to get even more great woodworking information.
