Summary: The world is urbanizing at staggering, unprecedented rates. With rapid urbanization, fragile cities can emerge with “differently” governed spaces and subsequently, rising levels of crime and violence. Affecting more acutely the poorest and most marginalized populations, crime and violence needs to be a part of our broader development strategy at the Bank.
