Summary: - Heb. 4:12, 2 Chron 16:9, Prov. 23:7, Matt, 15:19, Prov. 4:23 - we are to guard our heart diligently because from it flow the springs of life - hardness means cold, insensitive, unfeeling, and unyielding - signs of a hardened heart: 1. more sensitive to the opinions of others (Gal. 1:10, Acts 5:21-33) 2. shock at the supernatural (Mark 6:45-52) - whatever you consider, your heart becomes sensitive to or dominated by - whatever you fail to consider your heart becomes insensitive to, hardened to, not dominated by - consider: to study, ponder, deliberate, examine, focus, meditate on - Isa. 29:13, Heb. 4:1-2, Rom. 4:18-25 - Abraham considered not his own body - he was not focused on his body, he was hardened towared the unbelief, he was fully persuaded, he did not consider anything that would undermine his faith, he was so focused on the promise, he never saw Isaac dead - Rom. 10:17 - do not consider what God has not spoken, this opens the door to unbelief
