Each person has a promise God has given them. Preparation is the key to receiving God’s promise in your life. It first takes place in your mind and in your thinking using creative imagination. He gives an excellent example of a mother preparing for the birth of her child. She picks out names, decorates the room, buys baby clothes, and much more. She imagines the child and how it will look. A mother doesn’t wait until the baby is already born to do these things! Far ahead of time, she is preparing to make sure her baby is born healthy and is taken care of. It is the same with us. It’s up to us to nurture our promise, not God. We are pregnant with the promise of God for our destiny. Kim goes on to share the story of the 12 spies going into the Promised Land. Spiritual perception produces a certain perspective. Like the spies, we can have either a “grasshopper mentality” or “worm’s eye view” or a victorious, “bird’s eye view.” Most people are controlled by their situation and circumstance (situational perspective).
