Australian PM Malcolm Turnbull and Opposition Leader Bill Shorten, were among the many leaders and representatives who paid tribute to the former Israeli President, Prime Minister and Nobel Laureate for Peace Shimon Peres, describing him among other achievements, as an inheritor of the founders of Israel, builder of its defences and atomic capabilities, but at the same time a tireless advocate of peace with the Palestinians and a great friend and admirer of Australians. The longtime Melbourne community activist and leader, former President of the JCCV, the Zionist State Council and the Jewish Holocaust Centre, amongst others, Shmuel Rosenkrantz, eh, died at the age of 94.
