Gunstar Heroes – Cane and Rinse No.221

The Cane and Rinse videogame podcast show

Summary: Breakaway studio Treasure launched its first game in 1993, Gunstar Heroes. Formed of some of Konami's crack Super Nintendo coders, Treasure rapidly built its reputation on this hectic, sometimes surreal sprite and special effects-heavy run and gunner for SEGA's 16-bit Mega Drive/Genesis. Leon, along with a panel of enthusiasts - Michiel Kroder, Dan Clark and Simon Cole - discuss both the original game, its various ports and versions as well as 2005 GBA sequel Gunstar Super Heroes (aka Gunstar Future Heroes).

Music used in this issue:

Track 1: Gunstar Heroes - Title by Norio Hanzawa
Track 2: Gunstar Heroes - Ending by Norio Hanzawa

Cane and Rinse 221 was edited by Jay Taylor

Do you have an opinion about this particular game or maybe about our podcast in general?
