How Caregivers Can Best Utilize Hospice Services

The Scope Radio show

Summary: Many times the decision to use hospice care comes too late in the process to really get the benefits from it, according to clinical psychologist Dr. Lee Ellington. Her research wants to find out how a hospice team can provide better care for the at-home caregiver. By recording the conversations that happen in the home between the hospice team, patients and caregivers, she’s gained insights about how people can better use hospice services and better handle the challenge of the final stages of a loved one’s life.
