First I installed 3 AAA batteries for the power backup. Then plugged into AC outlet. It started to talk and wanted me to tell it the time to set. Very nice. You can then just tap the top of Rosie anywhere or say "Hello Reminder Rosie". Rosie then ask you to say a command. You can not speak while Rosie is speaking. Can be heard from 100ft(30M) distant.
