Summary: Dr. Bob Swoap is Professor and Chair of Psychology at Warren Wilson College in Asheville, NC. He teaches and conducts research in health and clinical psychology. For his most recent sabbatical project, he and his family lived at a therapeutic farm community for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. There, he conducted a qualitative investigation of the recovery process. Bob received his Ph.D. in Clinical and Health Psychology from the University of Florida. Afterwards, he completed a two-year fellowship in behavioral medicine at Duke University Medical Center. In addition to his academic duties, Dr. Swoap is a licensed clinical psychologist and works with medical/psychiatric populations in health care settings.
