Summary: Dr. Irwin is the Program Director for The McLean Center at Fernside. Dr. Irwin received his training at the University of Houston in the area of Clinical Psychology where he developed an expertise in the field of substance abuse treatment. Since completing his doctorate, Dr. Irwin has been on the faculty at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Columbia University, where he participated in federally funded research activities focused on behavioral and psychopharmacological treatment for substance use disorders. Prior to his position as the program director at The McLean Center at Fernside, Dr. Irwin was an assistant professor of Clinical Psychology in Psychiatry at the Westchester division of the Weill Medical College of Cornell University and served as the program director of the Substance Abuse Treatment Services at Payne Whitney Westchester.
