One Hour AT A Time show

Summary: We understand the negative effects smoking, gambling, sex addiction, alcoholism and drug abuse have on our lives, yet perfectionism-while not as common-can be just as damaging. Psychological and physical implications include: headaches, isolation, fear of failure, sleep disturbances, digestive problems, back pain, overeating, sexual dysfunction, depression, suicidal thoughts or tendencies, an inability to establish proper boundaries, overly critical of others, the need to be in control, and excessive guilt and shame. Our guest today will address the following: 1) What is perfectionism?; 2) Are all perfectionists the same?; 3) How serious can it be?; 4) How can it affect a relationship?; 5) Can the children of a perfectionist be affected?; 6) Can this pattern be changed?
