Chevron Leads Blue Chips Lower as Crude Steals Focus From Earnings

Summary: Stocks fluctuated and turned lower at Wednesday's midday trading on dropping oil prices. Traders are focusing on U.S. crude stockpiles being at their highest on record over positive corporate earnings results. Energy stocks were leading the blue chips lower. Chevron (CVX) is the worst performing Dow component. Exxon Mobil (XOM) is also down more than 1%. On the flipside, Boeing (BA) is by far the Dow's best performer. The stock is soaring almost 5% after surpassing forecasts by $0.20. Sales of commercial planes rose 15% in the fourth quarter. Tupperware (TUP) is also gaining in the session, up nearly 12%. The household products maker beat Q4 estimates on both the top and bottom lines.
