Summary: As we enter into what is typically the height of flu season, the risk is particularly severe this year. In this segment we disucss why students are more at risk and offer specifc additional precuations to share with staff, students and parents. Lorraine Schoenstadt, BSN, MS, RN, BC is a board certified public health nurse and has worked as a public health nurse for over twenty-nine years. She is the Immunization Education Coordinator and Perinatal Hepatitis B Coordinator for the Chicago Department of Public Health Immunization Program.
