TPP 081 – Listener Feedback

Tactical Paradise show

Summary: Welcome to Tactical Paradise!!!  I’m your host Greg Bakken.  In this podcast we’ll talk about all things tactical from everyday carry, to the mindset of armed citizens, real life situations and scenarios and the gear that will help you survive.  This is episode 81. "Brownells Police Store helps make this show possible. The Police Store has your tactical needs covered including Law Enforcement, Self Defense, and Security. Please visit www.tacticalparadise.com/police" Main Topic:  Listener Feedback Greg, Thank you for producing entertaining and informative podcasts.  Each week I download your podcast so my wife and I can listen to it on our commute from Sacramento to Stockton.  Yes, I said, “Stockton”.  Needless to say I have had my LTC since 2010.  My wife decided that she should do the same and obtained her LTC earlier this year. We both enjoy your podcasts and inevitably we end up in a discussion regarding the podcast subject.  My wife is going through the process of finding the right handgun, holster and carry outfits.  Just a few years ago she did not even enjoy recreational shooting.  She came to a realization that she should become proficient with firearms since I am an enthusiast and also because I carry.  I was very proud when she qualified with her handgun and scored higher than many of her CCW classmates. My father-in-law gifted a Walther PPK/S to my wife a couple of years ago.  She liked the feel of it and she can shoot it fairly well.  Unfortunately, the roughly 20-pound double-action trigger pull is too heavy for her to pull.  This is the only handgun on her LTC so we have purchased a couple of handguns (single shot exemption) more suited for her.  For her next LTC renewal she plans to qualify with two other handguns that will be more practical to carry. Here in Sacramento County you can list a spouse’s handgun on your LTC as long as you qualify with it.  It does NOT need to be registered under your name.  The Sacramento County Sheriff deputy that processed my renewal confirmed that specifically. Your podcast on the AR-15 pistol with the Sig Brace has really intrigued me.  A few of my friends are considering obtaining similar pistols either though the single shot exemption or 80% lowers.  Now that you’ve had yours for a while have you experienced any issues regarding reliability?  I am trying to save myself the headache of diagnosing reliability issues. Thanks again for producing such a good show Mr. T   I just listened to your episode 80.  Your shows are always full of insight. I know you recently bought a Glock 27.  Great gun.  I had one and sold it to upgrade to the Glock 20.  I would advise getting the model 20 or the model 29, especially with your hiking and off road activities. I would like for you to discuss the 10mm at some point.  You may even consider adding one to your collection. Keep up the good work with your show. Mr. T   Hey Greg, In the intro to your last show you mentioned encouraging your friend to get his CCW. I am also a california citizen and would be interested in hearing a show about california concealed carry law. I am under the impression that it is virtually impossible to get a ccw in the county where I live and work. For example I have a friend who lives in San Francisco and considering that city tried to ban guns completely he is under the impression that it is just about impossible to get a ccw in his county. I really like the show. It is nice to hear gun show based out of california. Mr. C   My experience getting pulled over while concealing a firearm. Hi Greg, First I want to say that I came across your podcast a few months ago and I love the show. I was listening to your recent podcast where you were talking about getting pulled over by the police while concealing a firearm. Last week my wife and I were pulled over while I was concealing a firearm and I thought I would share my experience with you. My wife and I were in Tucson AZ,
