Gear Guide:  For this weeks gear guide, I want some feedback.  Are slide serrations worth it?  Adding serrations to any slide can be costly.  Is it more about looks or functionality?  You be the judge and let me know. Feedback@tacticalparadise.com Main Topic:  Operator Training Suggestions Sometimes, I getwriters block as I’m putting these shows together.  I put a lot of pressure on myself to come up with something worth sharing.  I don’t care to be the next biggest thing, but more of quality and real life based recommendations and thoughts. There’s so much tactical buzzwords out there these days… That’s actually why I called this show Tactical Paradise to begin with.  I wanted to  make fun of things I see out there in the “training” and firearms community. For instance, this week I was watching a video having to do with training and running a rifle.  The guy was all kitted out and looked like a real operator.  But his tactics, were a little goofy to me.  He failed to use his cover, neglected to work in any reloads to his drill, and lastly turned his back on his target.  I’m not saying there isn’t a time and place to turn your back on a target, but it would be very rare and I’d be getting the bleep out of dodge!!! You have to guard yourself against crappy training.  If you’ve been listening to me for a long time, you might remember another story on why I started this podcast.  My CCW instructor was awful!!!  He told me my stance and forward aggression when shooting was unnecessary.  I’m always open to criticism, but after having me watch him, I knew I was in the wrong class with the wrong instructor. Training Requirements: Trainer has to be the example… Measurable Success.. Decisions based on knowledge, not feelings... "Brownells Police Store helps make this show possible. The leading supplier of Firearm Accessories, Gun Parts and Gunsmithing Tools. Find it all at the Brownells Police Store. Please visit www.tacticalparadise.com/police" Gun Safety: 1) Always treat a gun as if it were loaded. 2) Always point a gun in a safe direction. 3) Know your target and beyond. 4) Keep your finger off the trigger unless you intend to shoot. KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER!!!! Training Trick:  I was on instagram and reading about a trainer who felt that the saying, “Slow is smooth and smooth is fast” was an absolutely ridiculous training “saying” or “slogan”.  Well, the truth is that it’s not about training to be slow.  It’s training to be fast.
