The 1 On: Defending the Faith - Was Jesus an Advocate of Blind Faith? / Craig J Hazen

Undergraduate Chapel: Spring 2014 [Video] show

Summary: Dr. Craig Hazen, Director of the M.A. program in Christian Apologetics at Biola University, begins with part 1 of "The 1 On: Defending the Faith" series. In a day when Christians are constantly told by unbelievers (and sometimes within churches) that "faith" has nothing to do with real knowledge, the words and deeds of Jesus in Mark 2 and elsewhere overturn this idea. Jesus wanted people to "know" -- in the most tangible and vivid sense -- the truth about God. Dr. Hazen states that Christianity is a knowledge tradition. He explains that it is not necessary to leap blindly into faith because not only can we know it to be true internally through a powerful experience of the Holy Spirit, but that it is also possible to know them externally through a trail of evidence that God has left throughout history so that humans can know these things to be true.
