The Treasures of Darkness / Kay Warren

Summary: In session #2 of the Torrey Conference 2009, Kay Warren, from Saddleback Church, speaks on "The Treasures of Darkness" (Isaiah 45:3) and on how God uses intense suffering to reveal the great wealth that is hidden in secret places. Kay Warren states that times of suffering are inevitable but that believers can prepare themselves for them by putting their roots down deep in Jesus. She explains that to realize that they are fully known by God is the treasure that must be kept close in times of darkness. Kay Warren challenges the Biola community to change their perspective of suffering in light of 1 Corinthians 13:12. She encourages them to not get stuck in the darkness by dwelling only on the pain, sorrow, loss and disappointment, but to instead let their perspective focus on this verse and the truth that God has promised to give treasures that are hidden in the darkness.
