GI Show 220: Alien: Isolation, Flame in the Flood, Ethan Carter

The Game Informer Show show

Summary: This week, we discuss to two chilling new horror games and a very promising Kickstarter project by some people who worked on the BioShock franchise. First up, is one of the year's most anticipated games, Alien: Isolation, which promised to bring back the tense, dark vibe of the original Ridley Scott film. Jeff Marchiafava reviewed the game for GI, and stops by to tell us how the developers succeeded – and failed – in some important ways. In the second segment, host Matt Helgeson is joined by a special guest, Forrest Dowling of The Molasses Flood. Dowling was a lead designer on BioShock Infinite, and is leading a six-person team of ex-Irrational vets. They have an intriguing new game called The Flame in the Flood, a "rogue-lite" river adventure that offers up a dark brand of Americana. Listen in to find out more, or read our article on the game. Finally, street comedian Ben Reeves graces us with his presence. He's here to discuss The Astronauts' The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, a creepy new adventure game that is well worth your time.
