Well, the audience of The Following, I think, has been doing this since season 1's episode 5 for the most part. Inside of the 15th episode of season 2, entitled, "Forgive", we're "given" a close to the Church Seige, more offerings that we're forced to put the world of disbelief helmet on, and a season close that ironically ends with more Chinese food and question marks.
