Summary: The Schomburg Collection, Harlem USA Maya Angelou discusses The Schomburg, Quilts & Slavery- Lesley Gist, the producer of The Gist of Freedom was blessed with the opportunity to call in on the Rolanda Watts Blog Talk Radio Show and talk with Maya Angelou. Maya explained why she decided to donate her work to the Schomburg Library. The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture is showing off a collection of papers, manuscripts and letters penned by literary giant Maya Angelou, who died this week. The exhibit, curated in response to her death, will be on display beginning at 10 a.m. Friday at the Harlem repository.
