Summary: Join us this week on Christian Devotions SPEAK UP! as host Scott McCausey is joined by Splat Experience Artist Marc Eckel in segment one, followed by Recording Artist Julie Elias in segment two. Marc Eckel was an illustrator for General Motors in the Detroit area in 2000 when he was asked to creative an image on an eight-foot canvas as a backdrop for special music at the Troy Baptist Church in Troy, Michigan. He was given three minutes to complete the task. With very limited time, he chose to bypass using paint brushes, using his bare hands to throw paint on the canvas. In 2002, after moving to northern Indiana, he was asked to think of something to add to the church Easter program at the First Baptist Church of Pierceton. A similar painting was created, which led to the start of Splat Experience, a Christian Performance Art Ministry, now a ministry division of Blue Spaghetti, LLC, a creative arts company. Marc's wife, Julie, is the ministry's business manager.
