Journalist, naturalist and novelist Peter Matthiessen, 86, took readers to new territory

Summary: Peter Matthiessen was a co-founder of The Paris Review, an author of more than 30 books, and winner of the National Book Award in both fiction and non-fiction. He succumbed to leukemia at the age of 86, just days before his final novel will be published.
