Book Discussion With Fran Lewis: With Dr. Kenneth Weene

Red River Radio show

Summary: September 21st at four This is a special edition of Book Discussion with Fran Lewis. There are many people whose voices have been silenced when they become tragically ill with Alzheimer’s, illnesses where they can no longer speak, move or take care of themselves. Many of these people are placed in facilities such as Nursing Homes, or Asylums where they are often, not always at the mercy of the nurses, aides and staff that are supposed to care for them. Please welcome Kenneth Weene to my show. He is the author of Memoirs from the Asylum a novel that brings to light the issues of patient neglect, abuse and more. Please join me as I ask our author to tell about his background and his real life experiences working in the field of mental health and why he wrote this outstanding novel. Please join in the discussion and call into the chat room and let everyone’s voices be heard to help these people who cannot speak for themselves. My assistant for this show will be Jennifer Walker. Irene Brodsky will be calling in to ask questions of the author and Tina Roberts will be part of the discussion group too. For anyone that has ever needed home care for a loved one, nursing care or medical assistance, this is a show you won’t want to miss. Fran Lewis: Host
