Perception vs Reality: A Course in Miracles Lessons 18-32

EFT Radio show

Summary: What does perception mean? Is it showing us reality? A Course in Miracles teaches that “I see nothing as it is now.”  It also says that we are not upset for the reason we think. As an EFT practitioner I know how true this is. I start tapping with one perception of why I am angry. When done, I see the situation completely different, without anger. This transformation of our way of seeing is why I do EFT tapping: because, “I am determined to see things differently.” (Lesson 21). You respond to what you perceive, and as you perceive so shall you behave.  The Golden Rule asks you to do unto others as you would have them do unto you.  This means that the perception of both must be accurate…You cannot behave appropriately unless you perceive correctly. My problem is a misperception. When I release past and future associations, I see accurately, and the problem is gone. The Light of Truth, or Holy Spirit, in our mind, has the power to correct misperceptions. The Holy Spirit begins by perceiving you as perfect, knowing this perfection is shared He recognizes it in others, thus strengthening it in both. Instead of anger this arouses love for both, because it establishes inclusion. Perception can either lead us to joining and love; or separation and fear. One accurately reflects divine reality; the other miscreates a world where vulnerability and conflict are seen as normal and real. Reality and perception are not in opposition as the title implies.  Reality is all there is. Perception paints over the masterpiece with invisible paint, hiding it.  But invisible paint can’t hide anything! We recognize this when we wake up to reality.
