Summary: In the ten plagues, God's mercy and wrath met in judgment. God was preparing the Hebrews to leave Egypt, but He was also foreshadowing the gospel. For the last and final of these plagues, the Angel of the Lord killed the firstborn male in every Egyptian family. But he passed over the Hebrews.
