132 Tucker-Era Morbid Angel

REQUIEM METAL PODCAST show

Summary: Morbid Angel is quite possibly the most important band in extreme metal, influencing countless black and death metal acts and reshaping the possibilities of extreme music. In recent years they have been flying under-the-radar with the promise of an album reuniting the classic David Vincent-era lineup. With such lofty expectations of what the new music might hold, fans were clamoring to hear Morbid Angel back at their best. But as many have sadly discovered, their new album sounds like an out of touch attempt at recapturing their classic inventiveness, but in a sadly pathetic way. So this (along with the advice of Albert Mudrian) we decided to reexamine the Steve Tucker-era Morbid Angel and were pleasantly surprised by the quality and creativity in this later era output.
