Summary: Philippians 3:12-21 2013-11-03 Reading T or F The purpose of salvation is to be right with God. v.8 I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. v.12-21 Four aspects of his uni-directional life: 1. Forgetting the past 2. Straining for the future 3. Distinguishing examples in the present 4. Relishing God’s grace at all times Key Theme: Heavenly citizens on earth forget the past, strain for the future, take note of bad examples, and await the transformation/glorification of this body at the second coming of Jesus Christ. Key Verse: 3:20 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Attribute of God: Omnipotence: God has the power to raise the dead!
