Summary: FIRST THINGS FIRST: The powers in Washington DC are finally talking about the budget, but there hasn't been much progress yet. At least the nation won't default in a week. -Talks between Puget Sound grocery chains and workers have resumed. Ken wholeheartedly supports the workers and would not cross the picket line if this comes down to a strike. -The Seattle mayoral debate last night has Ken Schram torn between McGinn and Murray. He has a lot of respect for both. -The Catholic Archdiocese in Chicago is embroiled in a war with a local burger joint that serves a burger with a Communion wafer on it.
