Don't forget to stop by HindiPod101.com for more great Hindi Language Learning Resources! -------Lesson Dialog------- ----Formal ---- कोनार्क सूर्य मंदिर अत्यंत प्राचीन काल से भारतीय संस्कृति मे सूर्य की देवता के रूप मे पूजा की जाती है। कोनार्क सूर्य मंदिर सूर्य देवता को समर्पित है, जिसे उर्जा, जीवन, स्वास्तिक एवं ज्ञान के प्रतीक माना जाता है। यह शिल्प और वास्तुकला का नायाब नमूना है जिसे देखने दुनिया के हर कोने से सैलानी दूर-दूर से आते हैं। यह भारत का सबसे प्रसिद्ध ब्राह्मण तीर्थ है। सूर्य मंदिर में सूर्य देवता की मूर्ति सुसज्जित है जो भव्य मूर्तियों मे से एक है। इस मंदिर का पूरा आकार भगवान सूर्य के दिव्य रथ के रूप मे परिकल्पित है। ऐसा लगता है मानो सूर्य देव अपने सात घोड़े वाले रथ पर सवार होकर कहीं प्रस्थान कर रहें हो। जिसे मानवीय हाथों ने पत्थरों पर साकार कर दिया। मंदिर को सुंदरता प्रदान करते ये बारह जोड़ी चक्र जो साल के बारह महीने के प्रतीक हैं। प्रत्येक चक्र आठ अरो से जुड़ कर बना है जो दिन के आठ पहरों को दर्शाते हैं और सही समय का पता लगाने मे सहायक होते हैं जो सूर्य देव के नियंत्रण से चलते हैं। यह विशालकाय चक्र पर्यटकों का ध्यान खींच लेते हैं। यहाँ स्थित सात अश्व जो रथ को खिंच रहे हैं, सप्ताह के सात दिनों को दर्शाते हैं। सुंदर मूर्तियां, जानवर, पत्ते, नर्तकी, योद्धाओं व संगीतकार की बारीक बारीक नक्काशी अद्भुत पत्थर पे उकेरी गयी है। हर साल यह नक्काशी कई पर्यटक को उत्तेजित करती है और उनका मन मोह लेती है। ऐसा माना जाता है की इस विशाल मंदिर की शक्ति उसकी दो शक्तिशाली चुंबक है, जो नेवीगेशन प्रयोजना रूप मे इस्तमाल किया जाता था परंतु यह जहाजों को किनारे की ओर आकर्षित करता था और उनका विनाश कर देता था। अर्थात् समुद्र नाविक इसे ब्लैक पगोडा कहते थे। जो की यह तट किनारे स्थित है, यहाँ का सुंदर सूर्यास्त और सूर्योदय का द्रश्य अद्भुत है। यह सभी श्रद्धालुओं के लिए एक पवित्र गंतव्य है। यह प्रसिद्ध विश्व धरोहर स्थल है और हमारी सदियों पुरानी विरासत है। विश्व विख्यात सूर्य मंदिर प्राचीन कला का सुंदर उदाहरण है। ----Formal English---- Konark Sun Temple From ancient times in Indian culture, the sun has been worshipped as a god. Konark Sun Temple is dedicated to the Sun God, which is considered a symbol of energy, life, fylfot, and knowledge. The craft and fine architecture are a unique pattern of this temple where tourists from across the whole world come to see this inimitable architecture. It is the most famous Brahman sanctuary of India. The idol of the Sun God, which is one of the grand statues, is placed in the Sun Temple. The full shape of this temple is envisaged as a celestial chariot of the Sun God. It looks as if the Sun God is riding his chariot of seven horses and is about to depart somewhere. Human hands have figuratively placed this picture on the stones. To add beauty to this temple, these twelve pairs of wheels is a symbol of twelve months. Each wheel is composed by eight spokes joined together which reflect the eight times of the day (sundial) and is helpful in ascertaining the exact time which is under the control of the Sun God. These huge intricate wheels are the major tourist attraction of the temple. The construction of these seven horses which are pulling the chariot represent the seven days of the week. The beautiful sculptures, animals, plants, leaves, dancer, warriors, and musicians have been intricately carved on the wonderful stone. Every year this carving excites many tourists and touches their soul. It is believed that the power of this vast temple is its two powerful magnets, which were used for navigation purposes. But this temple used to attract ships to shore and then destroy them. Thus, the sea navigators used to call it Black Pagoda.
