The Nightwatch show

Summary: Tom foolishly thought the 49ers would come into Seattle and not only win, but blow out the Seahawks. Oops. He issues a mea culpa and thinks the team is the best in the NFL now. Jess thinks Jacksonville is ripe to be a "trap game" however. Both talk about Gus Bradley taking a huge step back by going to Jacksonville even though he's now a head coach. Tom gives a cooking analogy. Tom thinks it should be MANDATORY for referees to be available after a game to explain why they made a call a certain way in order to clear themselves. Jess says it was a great moment when umpire Jim Joyce apologized (and even cried) for making a bad call. He was quickly fogiven. A caller (who has been an official at the college level) says this is ridiculous. Refs need to be paid more to deal with the extra scrutiny. New York Yankees play-by-play announcer botches a call, really bad, saying that a ball that was caught was a home run. He's not the only announcer who has made a gaffe calling a game, as we revisit some not so great moments from Seattle's own Hall of Famer Dave Niehaus.
