Summary: The "Confederate flag" of today's politics is not even the real CSA flag. Still, it has it's own long history and it is a contentious symbol. Some fly it high and think of ancestors, others see it as blatant racism and a celebration of taking on an elected government, which would be treason in pure form. We can't answer every question about the flag or tell you what to think, but we can deal with the 'treason question.' And then look at several points of view of the flag, including thinking about a time when the North also waived their own flags high.
